Thank you very much for organising such a wonderful camp. Mizuki seems to have enjoyed it immensely. I’ve also heard that the teachers at Epsom are kind and have a great sense of humour.
A future-focused programme for campers aged 11–17, developing entrepreneurship, leadership, and AI skills through hands-on innovation, empowering them to tackle real-world environmental and social challenges creatively.

Wild Minds is a fully residential, immersive programme designed to build confidence, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills through entrepreneurship, AI literacy, and environmental exploration. Held at Epsom Malaysia and Borneo, campers work in small teams to tackle real-world challenges through innovation workshops, hands-on conservation experiences, and outdoor discovery. The programme concludes with a student-led project showcase celebrating teamwork and creativity.
Campers develop the skills to analyse real-world challenges, collaborate effectively, and communicate solutions with clarity and confidence. By the end of Wild Minds, campers will
like Design Thinking, SCAMPER, and Six Thinking Hats to develop and refine ideas.

and conservation while strengthening communication and decision-making skills.
Several of our dedicated students achieved remarkable gains of up to 3.0 CEFR sub-score units during an intensive 3-week programme, demonstrating strong commitment and effective learning strategies
Thank you very much for organising such a wonderful camp. Mizuki seems to have enjoyed it immensely. I’ve also heard that the teachers at Epsom are kind and have a great sense of humour.
I would also like to highlight that my children’s experience at the Wild Minds Camp has been overwhelmingly positive. They continue to talk about it and have described it as one of the best experiences they’ve had so far.
Dear Teacher,
Thank you for sharing such wonderful news. I’m delighted to hear that he is doing so well and enjoying his days at Epsom.
I also truly appreciate you taking such good care of him.
Thank you also for giving Jojo the opportunity to perform her ballet dance. We look forward to seeing you again!
I cannot thank you enough—he has become more mature and appreciative of everything he is given. He now takes nothing for granted and even expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to join the camp.
This transformation is incredible, especially considering the homesickness he experienced just a few weeks ago.
Thank you once again for your tremendous support and care!
Yes, his biggest improvement is that he now has the courage to speak English with foreigners, even asking foreign teachers for help—something he was too shy to do before. I would especially like to thank you for providing such valuable opportunities for children and for all the time and care you have taken to patiently guide and support them.
We are committed to maintaining an optimal camp size to ensure that every student enjoys a high-quality and enriching learning experience. Our small class sizes and strong student-to-staff ratios enable personalised attention and meaningful engagement.
The core teacher-to-student ratio is 1:18, with an overall adult-to-student ratio of 1:8 to 1:10 across all activities.
Students are supported by a team that includes lead instructors, the Programme Director, sports coaches, mentors, and a resident AI artist, ensuring both academic and creative guidance throughout the camp.
Students will take part in a range of enriching and immersive activities, including visits to renowned conservation sites such as the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. They will explore the rainforest at the Rainforest Discovery Centre and experience a river cruise along the Kinabatangan River in Bilit, offering opportunities to spot unique wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, orangutans, macaques, pygmy elephants, and a wide variety of bird species.
In addition, campers will have the opportunity to listen to experts in wildlife conservation, gaining valuable insights into the protection of endangered species and sustainable environmental practices. Through these experiences, they will engage in hands-on learning that deepens their understanding of nature, resource management, and ethical business practices.
The combination of modern facilities, expert-led fieldwork, and real-world application makes Borneo an inspiring setting for campers to develop practical solutions to environmental and societal challenges.
Fluency isn’t required, but to get the most out of the experience, we recommend that campers have at least an intermediate level of English—B1 (30–39) on CEFR placement scales. The programme is designed with EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners in mind, with accessible resources, clear scaffolding, and a supportive learning environment.
Several members of the camp team speak multiple languages, and where language barriers arise, we also use AI tools to support understanding and translation. This helps ensure that all campers can engage meaningfully with the content, collaborate effectively, and grow in confidence throughout the experience.
At Epsom College, campers are accommodated in same-gender boarding houses with shared rooms designed to foster a strong sense of community and belonging. In Borneo, they will stay in same-gender, twin-share rooms at the recently reopened hotel (formerly Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan), which has now been acquired by the award-winning Ormond Hotel group, offering secure and comfortable 4-star facilities. Refer: Ormond Hotels
Roommates are assigned based on age, gender, and, where possible, shared interests or project tracks. We aim to create a comfortable and positive living environment where campers can relax, connect, and make new friends.
If your child is attending with a friend and they’d like to room together, you can indicate this during registration—we’ll do our best to accommodate requests. Our team also checks in regularly to ensure campers feel settled and supported throughout their stay.
Meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner are served in buffet style and are provided throughout the camp. They are nutritious, balanced, and designed to cater to the needs of active, growing children.
Parents are asked to indicate any specific dietary requirements or restrictions during registration so that appropriate arrangements can be made in advance. If your child has complex dietary needs or severe allergies, we encourage you to reach out directly to our team so we can ensure their requirements are safely and fully met.
Student safety is our top priority during all outdoor activities and excursions. All activities are planned and delivered following comprehensive risk assessments, and are led by experienced staff with the appropriate training. Students are closely supervised at all times, with staff-to-student ratios suited to the nature of each activity and environment.
In Borneo, we partner with trusted, licensed local providers who follow strict safety protocols. Staff carry communication devices throughout all excursions, and first-aid-trained team members are always present. Before each outing, campers are thoroughly briefed on safety guidelines and expectations to ensure they are well-prepared.
Key measures for safety and security during travel to Sandakan and throughout the Borneo segment of the programme include:
Parents will be provided with an itinerary, emergency contacts, and regular updates throughout the trip.
International flights to and from Malaysia are not included in the camp fee and should be arranged by families independently. However, all transportation and air travel between the Epsom College and Borneo campuses are included in the camp programme.
If a child becomes ill or injured during camp, they will be assessed and treated by qualified staff or referred promptly to a medical professional if needed. Parents or guardians will be notified as soon as possible in the event of any significant illness or injury or if external medical care is required.
The camp team will ensure that any medication or treatment needed is administered according to parental instructions and with proper documentation. Emergency contact details are kept on file and used when necessary to ensure timely communication and consent for care.
All campers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation or interruption, baggage loss, and personal liability. Parents are responsible for purchasing insurance for their children. We strongly recommend adding both travel and medical insurance as a precaution.
Yes, campers are required to bring their own laptop for the camp. While a laptop is recommended—especially for projects and group work—campers may use iPads as an alternative to access learning materials and the dedicated learning website. Ideally, iPads should be paired with a keyboard accessory to ensure functionality similar to a laptop.
Give your child the gift of growth, connection, and
confidence through our one-of-a-kind learning adventures.
