Not just a camp. A transformation.

In today’s rapidly changing world, the ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and lead with confidence is no longer optional – it’s essential.

Yet many students remain on the sidelines. They learn, but don’t apply. They understand, but don’t express. They have potential, but lack the platform to develop it.

Over two immersive weeks at Epsom College Malaysia, students step into an environment where learning is active, applied, and intentional. Mornings are focused on building core future-ready skills — communication, financial literacy, AI awareness, and structured thinking. Students don’t just absorb concepts; they use them immediately through discussions, challenges, and real-world scenarios.

Afternoons shift into leadership in action. Through team-based challenges, problem-solving tasks, and guided projects, students learn how to take initiative, make decisions, and collaborate effectively under pressure.

This is not passive learning. It is a fully immersive, residential experience where discipline, independence, and confidence are built every single day.

Guided by mentors and industry exposure, students are pushed to think deeper, communicate better, and step outside their comfort zones — all within a structured and supportive environment.

The core teacher-to-student ratio is 1:10, with an overall adult-to-student ratio of 1:8 to 1:10 across all activities.

Students are supported by a team that includes lead instructors, the Programme Director, sports coaches, mentors, ensuring both academic and creative guidance throughout the camp.

What makes this camp different from other camps?
Toggle

This is not a typical activity-based camp. It is a structured, outcome-driven programme focused on leadership, communication, and real-world skills. Students work on projects, receive feedback, and leave with a personal leadership portfolio

What are the accommodation arrangements like at Epsom College?
Toggle

At Epsom College, campers are accommodated in same-gender boarding houses with shared rooms designed to foster a strong sense of community and belonging.

Roommates are assigned based on age, gender, and, where possible, shared interests or project tracks. We aim to create a comfortable and positive living environment where campers can relax, connect, and make new friends.

If your child is attending with a friend and they’d like to room together, you can indicate this during registration—we’ll do our best to accommodate requests. Our team also checks in regularly to ensure campers feel settled and supported throughout their stay.

What meals are provided, and can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Toggle

Meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner are served in buffet style and are provided throughout the camp. They are nutritious, balanced, and designed to cater to the needs of active, growing children.

Parents are asked to indicate any specific dietary requirements or restrictions during registration so that appropriate arrangements can be made in advance. If your child has complex dietary needs or severe allergies, we encourage you to reach out directly to our team so we can ensure their requirements are safely and fully met.

What measures are in place to ensure student safety during outdoor activities and excursions?
Toggle

Student safety is our top priority during all outdoor activities and excursions. All activities are planned and delivered following comprehensive risk assessments, and are led by experienced staff with the appropriate training. Students are closely supervised at all times, with staff-to-student ratios suited to the nature of each activity and environment.

Key measures for safety and security during travel to Sandakan and throughout the Borneo segment of the programme include:

  • Supervised Group Travel: Students travel together under close supervision by trained staff at all times, including airport transfers and flights.
  • Pre-vetted Transportation: All ground transportation is arranged with licensed, reputable operators familiar with the local area and experienced in working with student groups.
  • Emergency Protocols: Staff carry communication devices and have access to emergency contacts and medical support in the region.

Parents will be provided with an itinerary, emergency contacts, and regular updates throughout the trip.

What happens if my child becomes ill or injured during the camp?
Toggle

If a child becomes ill or injured during camp, they will be assessed and treated by qualified staff or referred promptly to a medical professional if needed. Parents or guardians will be notified as soon as possible in the event of any significant illness or injury or if external medical care is required.

The camp team will ensure that any medication or treatment needed is administered according to parental instructions and with proper documentation. Emergency contact details are kept on file and used when necessary to ensure timely communication and consent for care.

Is travel insurance required, and does the programme provide it?
Toggle

All campers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, trip cancellation or interruption, baggage loss, and personal liability. Parents are responsible for purchasing insurance for their children. We strongly recommend adding both travel and medical insurance as a precaution.

Are campers required to bring their own laptop/device?
Toggle

Yes, campers are required to bring their own laptop for the camp. While a laptop is recommended—especially for projects and group work—campers may use iPads as an alternative to access learning materials and the dedicated learning website. Ideally, iPads should be paired with a keyboard accessory to ensure functionality similar to a laptop.
