Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Intensive Camps and Competition Camps?
Toggle

Intensive Camps are structured, high-volume training weeks typically delivered as 5-day weekday camps. On selected weekends, we provide complimentary matchplay (subject to availability) so players can apply what they have learnt in a competitive setting.

Competition Camps are performance-focused and are built around a competitive event. These camps are usually slightly longer to allow for both preparation and competitive exposure.

Players registered for Competition Camps must sign up for the tournament directly via UTR. We are not able to register players on their behalf.

If your priority is building fundamentals, consistency and habits—choose Intensive. If your priority is match-readiness, routines under pressure and tournament experience—choose Competition.

Who are Junior Camps designed for?
Toggle

Junior Camps are designed for players typically aged 9–17 who want structured coaching, clear progression and a high-performance environment.

Players are grouped by level so training intensity and learning objectives remain appropriate and safe.

How do you group players by level if my child is new to the programme?
Toggle

We use a combination of the information you provide at registration and on-court observation at the start of camp.

If your child does not have a UTR (or a recent competitive reference point), we can still place them effectively using live assessment during the first sessions.

What does a typical training day look like?
Toggle

Training is designed to balance technical work, tactical understanding and physical development.

  • Technical: repeatable fundamentals (serve, return, rally skills, transition play)
  • Tactical: patterns of play and decision-making
  • Point play: scenario-based points and competitive drills
  • Physical: tennis-specific movement, coordination and conditioning

Competition Camps will additionally include structured match preparation and competitive routines to help players transition effectively into match conditions.

How many players train per court?
Toggle

Group training is typically delivered in small groups, commonly up to 4 players per court, to maintain coaching quality and adequate hitting volume.

How do we register for the tournament within a Competition Camp?
Toggle

Players registered for a Competition Camp must sign up for the tournament directly via UTR. We are not able to register players on their behalf.

Tournament registration is required to be completed alongside your Competition Camp registration, so please ensure you register promptly once you have secured your camp place.

Is accommodation available for Junior Camps?
Toggle

Yes. Camps may be offered with boarding or as day student options depending on the camp format.

Boarding arrangements are supervised and structured to support training, recovery and wellbeing.

Can private lessons be added on during the camp?
Toggle

Private lessons may be requested; however, they are subject to coach availability and scheduling constraints.

During peak periods, coaching schedules are typically full, so private sessions cannot be guaranteed. Any add-ons must be arranged in advance and confirmed separately.

What should my child bring to camp?
Toggle
  • Tennis racquet and non-marking shoes
  • Comfortable sportswear suitable for warm conditions
  • Water bottle and small towel
  • Sun protection for outdoor sessions (cap, sunscreen)
  • Any required medication (declared in advance, where applicable)
Who should we contact if we are unsure which camp to choose?
Toggle

If you are unsure whether Intensive or Competition is the right fit, please contact the coaching team and share your child’s age, training history and recent match experience.
